The Dogfather Corp(“The Dogfather”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you use our website and services.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Dog information: dog's name, breed, age, and behavioral history
  • Service preferences: program interest, training location preference, severity assessment
  • Payment information: processed securely by Stripe (we do not store card details)
  • Communications: messages you send via our contact form, email, or phone
  • Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps (collected automatically via server logs and analytics)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and schedule training evaluations
  • Deliver and improve our dog training services
  • Process payments for programs and services
  • Send service-related communications (confirmations, reminders, follow-ups)
  • Send optional marketing communications, with your consent
  • Comply with legal obligations under Ontario and Canadian law
  • Improve our website and service delivery based on usage data

We will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

3. Data Storage

Your personal information is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Vercel's infrastructure in North America. Vercel employs industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by applicable law.

Form submissions and lead data are stored securely in our database. We implement access controls to restrict data access to authorized personnel only.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe collects and handles payment card data directly. We receive only a transaction confirmation token. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, contact form replies). Resend processes email addresses and content necessary to deliver messages.
  • Calendly: Online booking and appointment scheduling. When you book through Calendly, their privacy policy applies to data you provide on their platform.
  • OpenAI (optional): AI-assisted features, if enabled. No personally identifiable data is sent to OpenAI unless explicitly required by a specific feature, and data is processed in accordance with OpenAI's data usage policies.
  • Vercel: Hosting and infrastructure. Usage data such as IP addresses and request logs may be processed by Vercel as part of normal hosting operations.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and analyze site traffic. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; however, some features of the site may not function correctly without them. We do not use cookies for advertising profiling.

6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a Canadian resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Right to correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent to our use of your information at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)

This includes encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
